Rick, our Puriscal real estate agent, first visited Costa Rica to attend an International Living conference in San José, along with his wife, Jean, in the fall of 2016. Rick spent years researching many Latin American countries including Costa Rica, Nicaragua, Panama, Colombia, and Ecuador for their retirement. They liked Costa Rica so much that, the following year, they left Canada and moved to the Central Valley just a few minutes from the city of Santiago de Puriscal. The locals simply call the town Puriscal or simply Puris. Both Rick and Jean would do it all over again.

With a career spanning accounting, analytics, information technology, and consulting, Rick is a problem solver and a solution finder. There is always a way. While many consider that buyers and sellers sit on opposite sides of the table, Rick sees both working toward the same objective.

It’s all about preparation – both buyers and sellers. Rick sees his job as facilitating that preparation. They say that luck favors the well-prepared. Well, when both parties are well-prepared, it’s not luck. It’s simply the natural outcome. If the experience is positive, a happy seller may be a future buyer, and a happy buyer a future seller.
