Property Description: Paraiso (Orosi Valley area; Cartago) - This is one of the landmark properties in the area, perched along the ridge with spectacular views of the Orosi Valley. The 37.3-acre (15.1-hectare) property extends from the top of the ridge all the way to the bottom of the valley. The upper 1/3 of the property is relatively flat and usable, with some of the area being used from crops, some of the area being planted with trees, and the rest being occupied by the structures.
The upper part of the property has a roughly 1,300-ft2 (120-m2), rustic, two-story house that has tremendous views from both floors. The downstairs has a large living/dining area with wrap-around windows with great views, a small kitchen area and a full bath. Upstairs are three bedrooms, one full bath, and a large central area, also with wrap-around windows with spectacular views. The house is situated well off the main road, giving it excellent privacy. The entryway is beautiful, first passing through some areas used for crops, then through an area with trees (mostly eucalyptus), and then along a flower-filled garden leading up to the house.
From the upper, flatter area of the property, there are a few different trails than lead down to the lower part of the property. One trail leads through a lovely forest area all the way to the bottom of the hill…like a nature trail. The other passes through some of the forest area but also periodically opens up to areas used for crops. With some work, some of those areas could likely be opened up to vehicle access, but are currently accessible only by foot or horseback.
The area is excellent, with a very peaceful, back-to-nature feel. And the climate is superb, with a Spring-like climate year-round (you likely won't need heat or air-conditioning). The general Orosi Valley is a fantastic area that is rapidly growing in touristic appeal and has numerous attractions, including the nearby Tapantí National Park, world-class whitewater rafting and kayaking, public thermal baths and a five-star hot spring spa/resort, Lake Cachí and the Cachí Dam, several cultural landmarks (such as the oldest church still in operation as well as the ruins of the very first church), quaint traditional towns, and the scenic beauty of a valley that many guidebooks say is the prettiest in the country. Just a short drive away is the Lankester Botanical Gardens, the Irazú and Turrialba Volcanoes, and the Basilica in Cartago (home to the country's patron saint and the destination of a yearly pilgrimage that attracts over a million people). It's a fantastic area!

Esta es una de las mejores propiedades en la zona, encaramado a lo largo de la cresta, con espectaculares vistas del Valle de Orosi.
