I am sure there is plenty of information about property law available but I would like to make interested readers aware of a hazard that I experienced. Over a year ago I deposited a substantial amount of funds in an escrow account toward property at Las Olas Beach Community in Esterillos Oeste with Latinamerica Title. After viewing the property just a few days after the contract period, I decided not to purchase. It was not a good value. The developer convinced Latinamerica that the funds should be distributed to him, and also refused to honor the contractual reimbursement for accomodations and airport transfers. I have spent additional funds and time attempting to recover my funds and expenses with no results. Enough said to buyers. In retrospect, the escrow was an unecessary risk if one takes into consideration the slow market.
