Last night in Alajuela La Liga advanced to the finals of the Torneo de Aperatura (Opening Tournament) by losing to Perez Zeledon 1-0.  The Southern Warriors played their hearts out, but were unable to overcome the 2-0 deficit from the first game played last Sunday.

Alajuela will face the winner of the Puntarenas - Saprissa series, which will be decided at 11:00 am on Sunday in the Saprissa stadium.  Puntarenas won the first game 1-0, so Saprissa must win by 1 goal to force overtime and possibly a penalty shootout, or by 2 goals to win the series outright.
