Continuing their slide from decent to poor, the Costa Rican national team lost 2-1 to Poland in a meaningless game for both teams.  Although Costa Rica avoided giving up goals in the first part, and even led for the first time in this World Cup, the weak defense cost them this game too.

In 3 matches Costa Rica gave up 9 goals while scoring 3, and earned zero points.   The local press and fans are completely disillusioned with the team and are calling for changes from top to bottom.  Players and coaches also expressed disappointment in the post game interviews, but look forward to analyzing what went wrong and where improvements can be made.
