In what was been labeled during the live broadcast as the “worst ever performance” in Costa Rica’s World Cup history, Costa Rica went down in flames today to an inspired Ecuador squad.  In Group A, Germany and Ecuador are now locks for the second round.

Coach Guimaraes took full responsibility in the press conference, while deferring commentary an analysis of the national teams Cup experience until after the Poland match. Local fans and experts blamed the fragile defense, the lack of preparation, and the lack of efficiency in shots for the disaster.
