The Alvarez Desanti question is a good one. I have a hunch that we will see many who bailed out over the CAFTA issue come trickling back to Liberation the closer we get to 2010. As for Alvarez Desanti, he will have tough competition. I rather look for current Vice President Laura Chinchilla to bid to become the country's first woman president (see previous blog) and possibly with Arias's blessing. That is, barring some disastrous political misstep such as overtook former Vice President Casas.

That is a very interesting commentary. It's very good to know some of the history behind many of today's issues.

It appears that Alvarez Desanti has gone back into the fold, will he be the next candidate now that Kevin Casas is politically incorrect?
