SITEC has launched a cell phone based business directory, called FonoGuia, that allows users to get the phone number and address of the closest business that offers services they require. The free software is basically a portable phone book installed into a telephone, PDA or laptop. The guide has 5,000 businesses grouped into 5 sections. Contacts, has businesses grouped by location; Entertainment, has movie times, tv guides, and locations of theaters, restaurants, hotels and cafes; Banking & Finance, offers exchange rates, stock bulletins and mutual fund performance; Classifieds, with things for sale; and a Promotions section with special offers.

The program is available at www.fonoguia.co.cr and users that cannot connect their phone to the Internet can get it at Almacenes Gollo or other cell phone stores that are participating.
