Ericsson of Costa Rica, which won the contract to install the new GSM cell network of 600,000 lines will install a total of 339 bases, which is 71 more than originally specified. This will be on the house, so to speak, in order to insure "optimal quality of service" according to the company.
The new network was supposed to go on line in September, but since coverage was incomplete ICE refused to take delivery. The ICE has announced their intentions to sell the new lines by the first week of December, but Ericsson has not officially confirmed any new delivery date.
TIP: Legal Residents, companies and Costa Ricans can solicit a new line under the new network with ICE at any time, which would help you avoid the rush when the network is delivered.
