The Electrical Institute (ICE) will release 40,000 new cell phone lines for sale on May 15, reported the daily La Nacion today. Of the new lines, 60% will go to private commercial stores and 40% will be sold in ICE branch offices.
Beginning Thursday, those wishing to reserve a mobile connection from ICE may call tel. 145. Those who buy from the commercial outlets need no appointments.
ICE is a government monopoly not only in telecommunications but the generation of electrical power as well.
