PAC leader Ottón Solís and president-elect Oscar Arías met in person at the Arias house in Rohrmoser for the first time since the election.  The meeting last 2 hours and 40 minutes and was a result of efforts by John Biehl, a friend and political advisor to both men.

While continuing to disagree about the possibility of renegotiating CAFTA, and whether or not it should be approved as is, the two parties also found common ground to work on beginning in May.  Both parties want to work on improving the roadways, enhance security, increase spending on education and improve the governability of the country.
According to Arias, ” I am pleased, because we have build the foundations of a permanent dialogue on many topics.” Solís said, “It was an open meeting,  respectful and frank, and important so that we can continue talks in the future.”
