Just when the official high season is due to end, hotels get an extra boost this year with a late Easter holiday. Many hotels are already fully booked, and most are over 70 per cent booked. Most are also charging ultra peak season prices, particularly for remaining rooms.
Not all is rose-colored though, as Ticos, tourists and hoteliers alike are worried about the road conditions. Roads to most major tourism destinations look like war zones. Government employees, and many private workers, will have the entire week of from Saturday April 8th, to Sunday April 16th - a total of 9 days inclusive.
