No news is not good news in the case of Costa Rica’s highways, who will not receive the attention of work crews, who were scheduled to begin repairs this month under 22 maintenance contracts awarded by MOPT.
The contracts were halted because of appeals by construction companies Hernan Solís and Sanchez Carvajal. They question the validity of the contracts due to errors in the the assignment process.
The 22 contracts cover pothole repair, resurfacing and drainage maintenance of 4500 kilometers of roadway.
