On Friday the US embassy authorized a tourist visa so that an 8 year old AIDS patient may visit the Disney theme park in Orlando Florida.
Twice before she was denied, but this time the application was approved because of a special exception given by the department of Homeland Security.
The story made headlines on Spanish language channel Univision in the US and French embassy officials had offered to coordinate a trip (including medical attention) to the Disney amusement park in Paris.
The first grader was estatic "I get to meet the princesses and Mickey!", she screamed, while she hugged a stuffed Mickey Mouse sent to her by the Disney characters along with a personal invitation.
