Anti-CAFTA Demonstration Peaceful; Pro-CAFTA Rally Slated for Next Week
In a much stronger showing than previous marches, CAFTA opponents stormed the streets Thursday in a peaceful march to the Legistalive Assembly building. Traffic was not severly affected as there was a strong showing by Transit Officials and those that could avoided downtown at all costs. Many political figures and a couple vice presidential candidates attended too: expresident Rodrigo Carazo, excandidate Rolando Araya, current candidatos Juan José Vargas (PPP) and Humberto Arce (UP) , and finally Epsy Campbell (PAC) y Gloria Valerín (UP) both candidates for the Vice-presidency.
A pro-CAFTA rally is slated for Thursday, November 24th.
