Puntarenas Tidies Up
Last weekend, municipal workers and neighbors in Puntarenas made a special clean up effort as part of plans for the upcoming high season. Driftwood, bottles, cans and other non-biodegradable waste were cleaned up on the area’s principal beaches with the aid of a tractor. The main Puntarenas beach, near the cruise ship dock is a blue flag beach and has a regular litter patrol, but this effort was directed to the neighboring beaches which are also popular among local and international tourists.
