Quintuplets!
A historic event happened on Monday in the National Children’s Hospital when Silvia MarÃa Araya Corrales gave birth to 5 babies, 4 girls and a boy, which has never happened here before. The 32 year old teacher traveled to Panama at the beginning of this year for an “in vitro” fertilization, which resulted in the multiple babies.
The mother is in stable condition, and the babies are healthy but premature by nearly 3 months. They may stay in the hospital 7 days to 3 weeks.
