April 9, 2008

Today will be noted in the history of Costa Rica forever. They may even make a national holiday, although it is very close to Juan Santamaria Day. I got my identity card! I have had official residency status since April 27, 2006, and now have my card to prove it. I can get my hydro changed into my name, get discounts on park admissions and plane fare, and cross one more piece of pending business off the list. I was so excited, I took an afternoon nap, and missed my tv show at 1pm, and my appointment to talk with Linda at 2. Oh well, manana.
The big project for me right now is the pool. I drained it Monday, but haven’t had a chance to look closer, yet. The finish layer of concrete is coming off in one end. I hope it is local, but I won’t know until I start chipping out the bad stuff, and see when it stops.
Yesterday, I had the front suspension on the car repaired. Tomorrow will go for an oil change, and still have a couple of small electrical problems to fix up before the safety this month.
The first picture of the baby monkey eating jacotes came out wrong, but there is a mother with a baby on its’ back in the first picture. Because of my lack of editing, you have to look for it. I will try to post the picture of the monkey on the clothes line again. I don’t think it came through right on the last one.
