May is over, and we have survived the first month of the rainy season. The days have been sunny, and most of the rain has come in the evening or at night. There have only been two big storms, most of the rain has been gentle. One big difference is that there is very little wind, and the humidity is higher. Linda is here now, and we have bought and planted some flowers, and fruit trees. Rafa and I went out yesterday to a spot on the side of the road where there is some good grass for the lawn. We shoveled a bunch into the back of the car, and Linda and I planted it, in shoots, when we got home. We are also buying some seed to try to get a good lawn started. Sod is prohibitively expensive, and even the seed cost over $200. It’s surprising just what is expensive here, and how expensive it is.

We finally got Raz’ infestation of ticks taken care of, and he is a happier dog for that. Jose and I put up a fence around the lot next door, so we should have no more trouble with cows. Linda and I went to the lawyer’s on Thursday to start the title process for the two properties that are now one. That will cost about $800, instead of the $400 I had expected. Everything is still going well. We get some work done every day, and still find time to enjoy the beach, or just relax.
