Voluntary Health Insurance Rates Rise

The CCSS board of directors approved a rate hike in their session on January 26th.
Rates for housewives and students will pass from 8,318 colones per month to 9,495 colones. Self employed people will pay 9,555 colones each month.
In the country 468,249 people take out the voluntary insurance.

Taxi Fares Up

Next week taxi fares will rise, according to a resolution issued by ARESEP. The new rates:
The first kilometer goes from ¢330 to ¢350, and each extra kilometer will cost ¢320.
